    ||• My Great-Great Grandfather Otto Peetz was born around 1810. He married Magdelena Lock around 1830; they had five children - Magdalena (1831), Charlotte (1836), Carl (1838), Magaretha (1841) and Hans (1843). The Census of 1845 shows the family living in South Schleswig, Borby, Village Gammelbuy near Eckernforde Bay off the Baltic Sea.

    ||• Hans (my Great-Grandfather) married Margaretha Peterson in 1865. They left their home in Kropp, Kreis, Schleswig-Flensburg, Prussia, Deutschland and sailed from Hamburg to Quebec on board the Barque Sailing Ship Hiram in 1866 and made their way to Chicago were they first settled. The epidemics of Chicago forced them to resettle in what is now Posen, Illinos were they raised their six children: Caroline (1866), Carl (1868), Heinrich (1870), Anna (1872), Wilhelmina (1875) and Otto (1876) (my Grandfather).
